This was actually a very close game for six innings and then it just kind of got away. Which is surprising to me, since I think my bullpen is pretty strong, but that's the way it goes.
Well, I'd say your starter gave up more than your bullpen. After all, Bird came out of the game with a 6.43 ERA. After the 6th he was out of gas (though he only threw 89 pitches). He's got an endurance of 8 so he shouldn't have had such trouble.
Did you guys look at the game log? Those middle innings were sweet, pitching-wise. Both guys through some great frames.
