League Pages Updated

Now that 2008 is in the books, several league pages have been updated:

The League Owner directory was updated by Aaron, the Awards History page was updated by Mack and I updated the Team History page. I want to extend a hearty "thank you" to Mack and Aaron for helping out with maintaining the league site.

If anyone wants to update any existing pages, or create new ones, please feel free.

  1. Doh! I saw the type on Ramirez's name when I was looking at the page earlier and made a mental note to correct it. Of course, when I went to update the page. I missed it. And then I made a new one in Deleon's name. Sigh. I'll fix them in the next update. If anyone sees any others, drop a comment here.

  2. By the way, instead of a hearty thank you, can I have a two game headstart in the next Cecil Cup? That might help me win one.

On second thought, I need a three game start. Thanks.

  3. Somehow, Mack, I think you'd still lose even if given a four game head start.

  4. looking at the computer choices for slick fielders this year on http://ootp.izev.com/lnews.html
all I can say is WTF?

Buck Kruse is golden glove shortstop? He had 31 fricken errors and a .960 fileding percentage.

Bingham had a much better season. He had a little bit less range, but 21 fewer errors? and .26 more fielding %.

what an odd algorythym they use.

Oh well it's the only bone the game throws me, so I'll take it.

  5. And Michael ...

    That hurts, dog. That hurts.

  6. It appears that the game really likes range. I don't think it's a chance that Covington and Denver were strongly represented in the fielding awards and that both teams had (not to be mean) abysmal pitching staff strikeout marks. Covington had 756 Ks and Denver 793. The next lowest team was Houston at 1,024. Heck, Brooklyn almost doubled them up with 1,395 strikeouts.

Hard to win a fielding award if your pitchers strike everyone out.

  7. At least you're carving your place in history, Mack.

It's better than obscurity, isn't it?

And good luck making the playoffs next year, Michael. Good luck.

  8. Hey, I think someone's missing from the Owner's page. New York?

  9. New York does appear to be missing.

Out of curiosity, what is the reason for the order? I'm generally used to being second at the end of the year, so I understand being second here. It's close to this season's records, but not quite, unless Walla Walla had to forfeit the season for some reason. It's all very mysterious.

  10. Actually I'm not sure it's range that is the factor so much as total chances. Bill Mculley with his amazing range of 1 won a gold glove as well. My pitchers couldn't strike anybody out, so there were a lot of balls is play, so therefore my team has the most total chances, and keeps winning gold gloves

  11. The order is the order of uploads off of one of Zev's blog posts a little while back, which I used in hopes not to forget anybody, and apparently still managed to do so. Easily fixable, though, I'll get right on it.

  12. Also, at this point, I'll take any awards the game is willing to give me.
