Player Assignments

There were a number of teams that needed roster adjustments. In one case, the owner had 26 players on his starting roster. In others, players needed assigning.

Instead of delaying the sim, I resolved each case as I thought best. In the case of the team with too many players, I assigned the player who would have the least impact (based on the assigned roles) to AAA. For assignments, I assigned the players to AAA or the major league roster depending on roster space and the player involved. If a player could not be assigned and the owner wasn't available via IM, I released the player.

  1. How in the world am I 5th in the league in AVG, tied for 3rd in HR, tied for 2nd in BB, and 11th in runs scored?

  2. You think that's crazy?

RC and SB tied for AVG .235.
    RC leads in HR 18/10.
    RC leads in BB 41/39
RC leads in OBP .306/.303 (not that either are great)
    RC leads in SLG .396/.351.

So I figure it must be his vaunted pitching leading to his great start.

    But no!

    RC leads in ERA 2.80/3.18.
RC leads in Hits Allowed 89/97.
RC leads in Runs Allowed 41/43.
RC leads in Earned Runs Allowed 36/41.
RC leads in HR Allowed 7/18.
RC leads in BB Allowed 35/37.
RC leads in Strikes Outs 92/87.
    RC leads in OAVG .210/.227.

And yet South Bay is up three games.

Random at this point, Gentlemen. Random.

  3. I was 5-9 last year at this point, so I figure the fact that I am 7-6 gives me a 2.5 game advantage. Small sample sizes should not be used to make any kind of determinations. That said, I had problems beating Zev's team last year and the first four game series indicates that I haven't made any strides in that area yet.

I do note that South Bay and River Cities played each other a remarkable 10 of the first 13 games and that South Bay kind of beat the stuffing out of them. I'm just saying...
