Hi all

Thanks for inviting me in. I've got the file and it all seems straightforward.

However, I can't yet figure out how to download and upload changes - thus I can't make any changes because my new password doesn't work.

Any help is appreciated, so I can stop holding up the new season. More of an introduction tomorrow after bed.

  1. Doug,

You have to download the new file I just uploaded tonight (at about 10:30 PM Eastern time). The new password will work with *that* file.

  2. Figured I'd try that... unzipping now.

And how do I go about uploading changes?

    Thanks again.

  3. Make your changes (I sent you an email describing which changes can be made through the game). When you're done, go to your team setup screen (it's under your team menu) and click the "Export Team to FTP' button.

  4. Welcome, Doug. It's a heck of a fun game and I think you'll enjoy it. We all have a pretty good sense of humor here.

P.S. Don't trust Nate aka River Cities. He'll try to fleece you.

(Just kidding, Nate. Ow. Stop throwing things.)

  5. Wow. He must have a pretty good arm to hit you in Seattle from Ohio.

  6. Okay, I'm onboard. So I've printed out all my rosters and started making notes, but I'll have to do the detailed work on the subway tomorrow morning. I'll have a list of contract extensions tomorrow morning.

When should I be prepared for a draft?

  7. The schedule for next season will be as follows:

Coach & Minor League Manager Signings
    Free Agent Signings
    First Year (Amateur) Player Draft
    Rule 5 Draft
    Spring Training
    Regular Season

  8. Are we going to run the free agent draft contemporaneously with free agency to try and speed things up? I think that was one of the better suggestions on how to keep things moving.

If there's a workload problem, I (or someone else) could run the draft, keeping track of who's drafted and who's available. Of course, if someone doesn't chime in with their selection, we wouldn't be able to have a contemporaneous computer pick so that could be a problem.

  9. My guess is that with a new owner things will need to be a little more deliberate than they could be. But we need to give the new guy the time he needs to work things out.

Covington's minors aren't terrible. But the really good prospects are all a few years away. With a good coaching staff he could make some noise.
