  2. Round Three of the epic confrontation between Good and Evil starts Sunday morning. River Cities took the opening act in 2008. Seattle captured the rematch in 2009. This one's for all the marbles.

Note: I'll leave it to the reader to distinguish between who is Good and who is Evil in this showdown. People giving the wrong response will be summarily ignored.

  3. Ahem. My evidence:

"When you come down to the river
Bet you're gonna find some people who live
    You don't have to worry
    'Cause you got no money
People on the river they're happy to give"

And, after all, Seattle's owner is a lawyer.

    Case closed on the evilness.

  4. By the way, anyone willing to post any predictions?

I'll spit in the eye of fate and predict a Seattle victory in 6 games. Even with my rudderless ship.

  5. 6-5 and pick 'em. Our pitching is particularly even this year by the numbers. You've got a marginally better offense but I've got a better defense.

It's trite, but whichever team gets better performance out of its starters is going to take this one.

  6. I agree that this is a really, really close match-up and that luck/coming-through-in-the-clutch/astrology is likely to be the deciding factor.

  7. The River Cities Paddlewheelers are pleased to announce their latest Free Agent signing: noted astrology Magic Mona.

Hailing from Pittsburgh, only 120 miles from River Cities home park in Marietta, Ohio, Magic Mona is a soothsaying entrepreneur as well as running one of the leading sports consultancy firms in the tri-state region.

It is with pride we bring the magic to Marietta for this critical playoff series.
