  1. Three games up!

I won 2 out of 3 against Nate, and I only lost one other game during the sim. I'm an astonishing 7 games above my Pythagorean record, but I attribute that to my excellent 1-run game record (14-3), and the fact that I've lost a few blowouts. I've always outplayed my Pythagorean projection, mostly because I build my bullpen from the back forward, and I have faith I'll win any game that's close in the late innings.

My team had yet another injury this sim, but at least it was a mop-up reliever, and I get Novotny back.

All of my trades proved to be beneficial, except Barrera is in a bit of a slump.

Oh, and Nate and the rest of the Zotti League? Watch out. Junior Cuomo's taking back the 9th inning.

  2. Oh, and why is Denver on computer control?

  3. I don't know. I didn't put it on computer control. I've emailed the owner to see if he did it.

  4. Tonight will likely be my last night with a Windows computer for a week or so. I'm going to do an upload tonight to get my affairs in order, but after that, I'm relegated to the Mac and Linux world until my new machine gets here sometime next week. Just an FYI in case I need to ask to have a roster move made for me next week.

  5. Just a generic FYI here, too:

OOTP 6.5 works perfectly fine on a Mac using VMWare Fusion. It doesn't work using Parallels, and I assume it'll also work with Boot Camp.

I switched to all-Mac over the summer and I only use VMWare Fusion for OOTP, go figure.

  6. Early returns have the big New York-Seattle deal as a win-win trade, which is what I hoped it would be. Mr. Stelly hits .350 with 2 home runs and 8 RBI. Harry Johnson pitches 7.1 strong relief innings. New York goes 2-1 in Isaac Diehl's three starts, including a win over River Cities.

Meanwhile, Mr. Placencia is 3-0 in 3 starts (all quality starts) with a combined ERA of 1.33 and striking out 28 while walking only one batter.

Win-win. It's the best kind of trade.

  7. "including a win over River Cities"

Not that I'm complaining, but phrases like this don't seem to have that much value this season.

Nate: 14 down, 81 to go.

Yeah...It also works almost adequately with Virtual PC on my G4 non-intel Powerbook, but I deleted that about a year ago when I realized that VPC was eating 15gb of my hard drive just to play OOTP, and I had a windows box in the other room. I suppose I could dig out my VPC disk and reinstall, but that seems like an awful lot of work for what might not even be a 1 sim period of time without Windows.

  9. Just got a shipping update from Amazon, and they expect my new computer to arrive on friday, so I probably won't miss a sim.
