Sim 1: Who Uploaded?

Cleveland
Houston
Los Angeles
Maui
New York
River Cities
Seattle
Walla Walla

So, what's happened?

Well, Seattle (11-3) and New York (12-2) are off to fast starts.

Good news for New York: Bradford McGreevey threw a shutout against Danville.
Bad news for New York: 2B Bill Turek is gone until next spring with a ruptured back.

Next sim is next Thursday.

  1. Having Sherman Wheeler give up 5 runs on the top of the 1st on Opening Day is not a good way to start the season. Unfortunately, that wasn't just an aberration for him, as he also got lit up by Cleveland (!) in his third start.

A 6-8 start is not acceptable. I have a lot of stuff to sort out this weekend.

A few of you may hear again from me about some trade talk.

  2. 9-5 looks pretty good considering I list Callahan for the year, Scull for most of the sim, Miller for most of the sim, and Okane day-to-day. Not the healthiest sim I've ever seen.

  3. What are you saying Michael, that my team is not very good...well you are correct, but 3-11 bad, we should not be that bad. Starting off with 7 games against NY did not help (1-6 in those) At least all of my minor league teams are .500 or above.

  4. Yes, Jeremy, I'm saying your team is not very good. A **** starter should not get lit up by your team.

At least I didn't get anyone hurt this sim.

  5. Going through the files I find my injury count sits at FIVE for the first sim with one of them, as mentioned above, being for the year. Feh.

I'm glad I didn't go 3-11 or something. Small favors.

  6. Well... can't complain about the start, but losing Turek hurts. Thankfully I've got some options, with Reyes or Cohen able to move to 2B, and my fourth OF (and second highest paid player, after Turek) able to play SS.

  7. Well, among the five minor league injuries in the Seattle system was a career-ending injury, so that sucks. Luckily, he wasn't a real prospect. It seems though that injuries are going to be a bigger presence in version 9.0.

Otherwise, no complaints at all. The Monarchs' pitching hasn't been as great as I expect, but the offense has been unbelievable.

  8. How the heck did I manage to win 4 games?

    4-10, baby. Woo!

Jeremy, you better start winning. I want the first pick darnit.

  9. That first pick is mine, you have to lose 100 games year after year to demand the first pick

  10. Weird stat of the sim: Monarch outfielder Armando "Rimfire" Cedeno has 5 intentional walks in 14 games. He's off to a good start, but it's not like he's Barry Bonds or something. Very strange.
