  1. Can't complain too much about still being in first, even if it was a pretty middling sim for the Monarchs. Battling some short-term injuries, but I think there's enough depth to survive them intact.

I'm amazed by the mighty Maui Mashers' performance this year. Everyone knew Lutz and Cabrales would hit. But, long-time top prospect Robert Estill has finally bloomed and solid performances from Sequiros and Lefebvre have turned the squad into a top offense. But, while the offense is a bit of a surprise, I never expected the Maui pitchers to be as great as they have been. Who saw former reliever Kyle Fike turning into a total stud as a starter? It's a really impresive performance by Maui, who is now the team to beat.

  2. I, too, have been pleasantly surprised by Maui's performance. I have the smallest budget in the league, which has really hamstrung my ability to improve the team further. I am really hoping that my budget finally increases next year. Otherwise, with the arbitration awards that some of my players are likely to receive, I'll be in serious financial trouble. I can't make any contract extensions as it is right now.

  3. Looks like Grondin is the stud year in and year out that I had thought he would become. the question is what will he end up with more of this season, HRs or Es? He has 20 HRs and 18 Es already this season. He is the only reason I wish we had a DH in this league.
The other interesting point of the season is my 1B Aiken. He turned 33 and that is it. He can't hit his way out of a paper bag. Such a quick drop off for a guy that is not that old. Guess when you lose it you lose it.

As for pitching, Turner is showing off his goods as he heads for the FA market. He is looking for a 7 year contract guys, so you had better be ready to pony up in the FA market for this top young pitcher. The other pitcher pitching well is Kaler. Working off his Cy Young season last year, he is 7-3 with a 2.75 ERA and 0.99 WHIP. If he could just keep the dingers down, he would be one of the all time greats. He is on pace to give up one HR per game this season. That is not to my liking.

I know I have said it before, and will say it again; I do like this 3 division format. I think more teams are in it until the end (hopefully). I look forward to the second half of this season that is for sure.

  4. Well, I only lost 19 games in June, so it's an improvement. I'm now in the lead for the #1 pick, too, by a few games over Danville.
