  2. So, the Monarchs start the month 6-2, and then go through a six-game losing streak, scoring a total of 12 runs. I still don't know how good this team is or isn't. I think the hitters as a group are underperforming, but maybe the problem is I'm expecting too much.

On the bright side, the big three at the top of the starting rotation (Placencia, Hester, and Macaluso) have been good this year and closer and free-agent-to-be Vallejo has been outstanding. If I make it into the playoffs, that may bode well for the Monarchs' chances.

  3. July has started off well for the Steamers going 10-4 so far and hopefully not peaking too soon. Grondin continues his all world season with another 5 HRs, 10 RBIs and 11 Rs in just 13 games this month. Goss is batting .411 for the month with 10 RBIs and 13 Rs. And Midkiff has finally come alive this month is batting .391 with 9 RBIs and runs scored.

On the pitching side, Turner continues padding his FA resume by being 2-0 in three starts with a 2.11 ERA. Pio Ramirez is 2-1 and Koepp has only given up 8 Hs in 19.2 IP (he has given up 13 BBs though). It is good to have those three pitching well while Kaler and Gerth hit their mid season lull.

A big second half of the month with 3 @ second place Hickory and 3 @ wild card leader (and rematch of last season's Cecil Cup) Saskatoon along with 2 against Maui to close up the month. This could easily turn into a .500 month if things cool off for the Steamers.

  4. I am still in utter shock that I am doing this well. It's a strange game.

  5. I know how you feel Matt. Last year that was my feeling in the OEL.
