  1. I have to say, I like how my team is ending the season. We're ripping the ball, and have winning records the last two months. Too bad we had a dreadful start and can't pitch worth a damn.

I'm bucking previous trends and promoted two prospects this September. 2B Felipe Mendoza, penciled in as the starter for 2018, will backup Bill Turek and try to win a bench job in 2017. First round pick, Joseph Curry, a hot-shot relief prospect, has joined the team with an eye on getting a significant late-inning role in 2017.

Things might be looking up in Los Angeles, after a few years of wandering through the OOTP desert.

  2. I asked for my six-game lead back and got a seven-game lead. Hurray! Now, can I have a Ferrari?

More congrats to Greg Mudge who can now claim, albeit briefly, to have the greatest hitting career in SDMB history. He'll be passed soon by many of the young studs in the league. But, right now he is the career leader in hits, total bases, home runs, and RBI. He's also only 17 runs short of taking the career lead in that category as well. That's one heck of a career.

Plus, Mudge is hitting .325 with a .613 slugging percentage this season. He's under contract for another season, so he'll have the chance to push those totals even higher. I'm also going to let him start against LHPs, just to help the career totals along.

Finally, that Maui juggernaut appears to be for real. The Monarchs have put together a meager 3-9 record against the Mashers, including a sweep in the latest sim. I guess I have to hope to miss them in the playoffs.
