2B Marvin "Marvin" Cardoza says goodbye to New York and signs with River Cities for $2.3m/1 year.
CF Mohammed Stelly also leaves New York and goes to Hickory for $3 million/3 years.

Ooof...offered Stelly a good bit more money than that, but what can you do, guess he does not like Cleveland that much :)

ReplyDeleteStelly and Cardozo - two of the guys I cut at the end of the year so that I wouldn't have to pay them arbritation level salaries.
ReplyDeleteIf Stelly ever comes back to be anything resembling worthwhile, I'll be very annoyed. He was phenomenal four years ago, but then completely lost it - VORP went from 78.9 to 32.2 to -6.8 to a brutal -26.9 last year. I just couldn't see keeping him at a salary of $3M that I expected he'd get during arbitration.
