  1. I certainly didn't expect an 11-3 start to September to thrust me back into the playoff picture. It sucks losing Ricky Peppers, but I finish the season at home against Saskatoon, so I'm not out of it yet.

Next week's sim shall be a nailbiter!

  2. Holy shit, guys. What the hell did you do to piss off the baseball Gods?

SEVEN out for the season injuries in one sim?

  3. Nate,

At this point in the season, a 4-6 week injury is "out for the season."

  4. First of all, the Monarchs have clinched a playoff berth. Woo hoo!

Second, in bear-in-the-woods news, injuries continue to suck. It's the "out for the next season" injury that hurts the most though. Looks like I'll be shopping for an outfielder in the offseason.

And, if Seattle plays Maui in the playoffs, it will be a matchup of AAA and AA outfielders, which is kind of amusing on some level. Lots of outfield injuries this season between those two teams. I think Matt and I each have one outfield starter left.

  5. 4-6 weeks is still a LONG time to miss, isn't it?

  6. Yeah, it's been a brutal season for injuries for several teams, including Maui. I found Mack's comment to be particularly amusing since I don't even HAVE a AAA outfielder to call up, and nobody in AA who is even remotely close to being ready. My only outfielder in AAA, John Custard, sustained an 11-12 month injury in the sim before this one. So, playoff contenders - be sure to hit the ball out of the infield when playing Maui! Which, incidentally, shouldn't be that difficult, given my atrocious infield defense.

  7. Gotta be SOMEONE on the free agent list that makes sense, Matt. Anything is better than Keith Moreland, remember.

  8. Even if I could, it's going to be tough to replace Estill and Kondo, who represented a huge chunk of my offense. Estill had an OPS of .921 and Kondo had a shot at ROY with an OPS of .885. Those are middle-of-the-lineup numbers. Boo! Is it next year yet?
