  1. Zev: I don't have my messages from the first week of the sim. I haven't checked the box scores yet, though.

All in all, an improvement for the Scorps. A seven-game winning streak is a great way to start the sim, and my bullpen is as awesome as predicted.

However, Elder Guzman and Alva Mendonca are worrying me. Both were amazing in spring training (and, are experienced). I really hope it's not a fluke, but I need Guzman to return to form to make up for the relative mediocrity of my rotation, especially since they've collectively dropped in quality from last season.

And, of course, in any other division, I'd be no more than a game out, but, since this is the Zotti, a winning record just isn't good enough.

  2. Zev: For whatever reason, I have a ton of emails I can't read from the start of this sim. Any chance you could re-post the league file with messages going back 16 days? Or, even better, going back 30 to catch the ones from the first sim?

  3. Not a great sim, but I am still in first. Ran into the Seattle juggernaut and lost all three to them. Still in first, Still scoring runs, Still sketchy pitching. I hope it holds out for the whole season.

  4. I hope this is your year, Jeremy, because barring a trade of one of your high-salary players, I don't see how you are going to be able to resign your key pending free agents, especially Grondin.

Nice to see my team climb above .500 after I corrected that 7-day lineup mistake that (apparently) a couple of other teams made as well. Not going to do very well when your #5 starter is pitching every other day.

  5. I still think because of the odd way that this game does budgets, I will have a chance to re-sign Grondin before the end of the season. I hope I am right because I would like to keep him, and he is awesome.

We will see as the season moves on and if I am in first still, but yes the contracts I have given are going to make things a bit tighter in the budget.
