New York's Larry McCormick named Player of the Week -- twice! (7/20 & 7/27)

Cleveland's Brian Pearson has back spasms and will miss eight weeks.

Hickory's Alberto Granado tore a groin muscle while running the bases and is done for the year.

  1. The last nine games this season for the Monarchs are three against Ohio, three against Brooklyn, and then three against Saskatoon. I doubt I'll be resting anyone when those games roll around this year. Just a great playoff race in the Zotti this season.

    I'd feel a little better if my Pythagorean luck starting turning around though. Saskatoon is seven games ahead of their Pythagorean pace and Seattle is eight games behind theirs. That's a 15-game swing in a race I'm trailing by two games.
