July I Sim Done



Game Date:  7/16/2012

Standings:
Adams:  Brooklyn's lead over Hickory has grown to ten games.
Zotti:  Seattle's lead over Shackamaxon now stands at 21 games
Signorino:  New York told over the division lead and now leads Maui by one.
Wild Card:  Shackamaxon's lead over Barstow has dropped to one game.

News:
Hickory 1B Jesus Flores named Player of the Week (7/5)
Seattle 3B Terry Hubbard named Player of the Week (7/12)


Significant Injuries:
Atlanta MR Claudio Gonzales, already out with an inflamed elbow, has chosen to retire.
Ohio's Darin Sitton will miss 2-3 weeks with a forearm strain.
Shackamaxon 2B John Grondin has wrist tendinitis and will miss three weeks.
Ohio SP Fernando Estrada will miss three months with an elbow strain.
Seattle SP Ronald Placencia will be out for three months with a partially torn labrum.  
Monck's Corner CF Craig Bell sprained his thumb and will be out for five weeks.

.... and, the winner of "Best Injury of the Sim" goes to Brooklyn's Sean Rice, who was injured when he did one too many BMX bike tricks.  He'll be day-to-day for a week or two.

Milestones:
Seattle's Ronald Quijada recorded his 2000th hit, the 14th player to do so.

Next sim:  Next Wednesday night.

  1. Grrrr....another carrer ending injury to a SP for me...I have lost track of how many this is, but it is a lot. Now I might become the worst team ever.

  2. It's nice to see that Macaluso settled very nicely into the top of my rotation. That's about it for good news this sim, however, as I let Barstow gain three games on me. Losing Grondin for a sim, and Martinez for a week was alleviated, somewhat, by the trade for Midkiff, but when the rest of my offense is in a slump, there's not much chance for victory.
