Monarchs Send Wolves Home, Maui Beats Shackamaxon

The Seattle Monarchs sent the Brooklyn Wolves home today on the strength of eight innings of shutout ball by starter Enrico Hernandez.  Hernandez held the Wolves to six hits and Robert Riddick closed the door in the ninth to send the Monarchs to the Cecil Cup series.

In the other game, the Maui Mashers put up an 8-spot in the eighth inning to defeat Shackamaxon 12-5.  The hitting star of the game was RF Reijiro Kondo, who went 3-5 and hit his third home run of the series.

Game 6: Saturday night.

  1. Sorry, Zev, but history has taught me that nobody roots for a repeat champion. So I guess everyone is cheering the Monarchs' win in the series.

    Great season, even if the Wolves fell short of last year's triumph.
