April I Sim Done

Game Date:  4/16/2014

Standings:
Adams:  London leads the division by one game over Hickory.
Zotti;  Seattle has jumped out to a four game lead over Brick and Shackamaxon.
Signorino:  Philadelphia is one game ahead of Antelope Valley.

Awards:
Shackamaxon captured both Player of the Week awards this sim with 1B David Seibel winning the award after the first week (4/7) and LF Tomas Kalakay was recognized in the second week (4/14).

Significant Injuries:
Seattle's Lucio Muniz fractured his hand and will miss 5-6 weeks.
Philadelphia first-sacker Geoffrey Boerner strained his oblique and will be out for 4-5 weeks.
Atlanta will be without closer Pablo Santiago for about four weeks with a shoulder inflammation.
Shackamaxon veteran John Grondin sprained a thumb and will miss three weeks.
Antelope Valley LF Juan Cerda has plantar fascitis and will miss five weeks.
Maui left fielder Maximo Rodriguez strained a hamstring and will miss three weeks.

Game of the Sim:
Apr 3, Shackamaxon @ Houston.  Shackamaxon puts up 23 runs (including nine runs in the ninth) to defeat the Armadillos 23-6.  Three Shackamaxon players each hit two homers apiece.  Of course, they were also helped by the thirteen walks that Houston pitchers coughed up.

Note;  Rather than delay Opening Day, I had the AI adjust the rosters of any teams that did not have their rosters down to 25 players.

Next sim:  Sunday evening.

  1. So the Hickory pitcher opens the season by hitting the defending MVP and fracturing his hand. Yeah, Frank, like that was an accident. Sure.

After that though, it was a great sim for Seattle. Go Monarchs.

  2. Oh, and one of my starting pitchers was concussed by a defective pitching machine. He made his next start on time, but gave up seven runs in 1.1 innings. I smell a lawsuit...

  3. In a sim that featured a walk-off walk and a 23-run thrashing, I think the best way to summarize the Shackamaxon performance was that 13 of the 25 "Top Game Performances" for batters involved the Lenape.

Eight of the best games were by Lenape sluggers, while five opponents made the top 25 while teeing off against the Lenape batting practice pitchers.

  4. Zev, are you getting my updates? I think Hickory got AI-ed - at any rate, somehow or other all my relief pitchers ended up as starters and vice versa - but I was under the impression I had uploaded. I did another update earlier this week; please let me know if you don't see it. Thanks!

  5. Frank: Did you leave 7 Day Lineups on after spring training? Doing so will do crazy things to your lineup and rotation in the regular season.
