Sim Done

Game Date:  Oct 11, 2027

Next sim (covering a week) will be on Wednesday night.

Please see Michael's post (right below this one) about some changes that we are contemplating for the league this off-season.  In all the years of this league (26 seasons, 13 real-life years), I can't remember when we've had such sweeping changes under discussion.  Your participation in these discussions is important; please let your voice be heard on these matters (or any others that you may wish to bring up regarding the running of the league).

  1. Zev, during the first stage of the offseason, while we are discussing these rule changes, will we continue to be governed by the existing rules? If I want to trade my first round pick, is there any restriction on that?

Also, I'd put team budgets on the menu to discuss. The Seattle team budget is out of control compared to the rest of the league. I've made a deliberate decision not to use the extra money (the owner took away an extra $105 million in unused cash at the end of 2027), but I'd prefer not to have the temptation in the first place. I suggest we do, as we have done before, another round of tightening the ranges of team budgets so that we are all on a more even level. Bring the bottom teams up and bring Seattle down so that we're all in a range of $130M to $160M, or thereabouts.

  2. Mack: Nothing has been decided yet, so feel free to trade your first round pick(s) if you want.

And, good point on budgets. I'll add that to the list.

  3. In my home league I've built a financial juggernaut that rivals Seattle. One of the things I did was turn on revenue sharing to even the field a little. May not be necessary with payroll restrictions, or may be a different way to go.

  4. To go along with Mack and all the other teams with big financial advantages over teams like mine were, I know we have been losing the past couple of seasons I noticed my team was last in all financial categories and can't really keep up with bigger markets or top free agents.
