The First Year Player Draft has been completed.
I was going to sim the next two weeks, but I realized that with the rookie league season starting, owners will need time post-draft to set up their Rookie League teams.
Please make sure to move all non-first-year players out of the Rookie League and into Single-A or higher.
Next sim: next Wednesday.
Actually, Zev, it looks like the Rookie League schedule isn't starting until June 26th (and runs until September 8th).

It actually works out pretty good if you need to add any minor league free agents to balance your roster, which I do. I somehow managed to not draft a bullpen.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem, Bill. I managed to draft only about five pitchers total. I had a few international call ups to balance things a bit, but it's still a pretty sparse pitching staff for the Renton Royals.
ReplyDeleteUnlike last season, I mostly let my scout set my draft list, and he did a pretty good job. While I drafted 16 pitchers, only one or two are listed as RP, so I am taking obvious relief candidates and turning them into relievers.
ReplyDeleteExcept for a few extra pieces (3rd catcher, utility IF, etc.), I have a full team ready to start playing at the Rookie League level. Far cry from a few seasons ago (2026) when I didn't draft any pitchers.
