Opening Day is Here!!

Game Date:  Apr 1 2030

Welcome to Opening Day 2030, the 29th season of SDMBOOTP Baseball.

The first sim of the season (covering the first half of April) will be next Wednesday night.

Please be sure to have your rosters in order.  You must have your active roster down to 25 players and your minor league rosters must have no more than 35 players each.  You can leave your Rookie League players where they are for now, but they will have to be moved up (or released) by the time that level's season starts, which will be on the second June sim.

Please, please, please... have your rosters ready.  Please don't be the one that causes a delay in Opening Day.  :)

Significant Injuries:

  • Antelope Valley will be without starting shortstop Mario Silva for the year as he recovers from a broken bone in his elbow.
  • They will also be missing 1B Jamie Alvarez as he spends the next five weeks recuperating from torn quadriceps.
  • Wilmington's Ricardo Feliciano will miss about five weeks with torn meniscus.

Next sim:  Wednesday, June 14.

  1. The AAA, AA, and A leagues have played their first games. As my entire AAA rotation was on my spring training roster, someone had to step up and pitch Arizona Bay's first game.

Jim Unknown was that man. He took the ball, and pitched 8 shutout, 10 strikeout, one-hit, and one-walk innings to take the victory. He also pitched a shutout inning in relief for the Arizona Bay Lizards, three innings of relief for the losing team, and played both LF and 1B for the Lizards.

What a guy! Needless to say, he was the player of the guy.

  2. Can we fix the ML schedules so they don't start so early? In my home league there is a two week gap between start of Majors and start of Minors.

  3. I am officially disappointed that three of my minor league teams played games before I set the line-ups and pitching staffs.

I also vigorously reject the insinuation, seen in so many media reports today, that my disappointment is driven by my teams' collective 1-2 record. I would have been equally strident if my teams went 2-1.

Now, if they went 3-0, well that might be a different issue.
