Antelope Valley Shopping Quijada/Parker

Just thought I'd bump this.  He got hurt in the sim I posted this, so I really couldn't deal him.  If anyone is interested, make an offer.
------------------------------------------
Anyone interested in SS Ronald Quijada?  My scout has him at 4 1/2 stars.  He got off to a slow start, but he has really heated up lately.  Doesn't look like I'll get anywhere this year, so looking to move veterans for prospects.  Prefer guys closer to being Major League ready, as I've had too many multi-star prospects go to 1-2 stars for no reason.  I'll also move Bruce Parker for the right price.

July I Sim Done -- Trade Deadline Approaching

Game Date:  7/16/2023

Who uploaded?:
Antelope Valley
Atlanta
Brick
Hickory
Houston
London
Maui
Seattle
Shackamaxon

Standings:
Adams:  Hickory's lead over Brooklyn has grown to three games.
Zotti:  Seattle's lead is at... oh, heck.  Does it even matter?
Signorino:  Maui leads by seven games.
Wild Card:  Brooklyn leads Brick by three games.

Awards & Accomplishments:
Houston 1B Nigel Bryant named Player of the Week (7/3) (again? -- for those keeping score, that's three Player of the Week and two Player of the Month awards this season.)
Nigel Bryant hits for the cycle and goes 5 for 6 (7/9)
London's Raul Ortega named Player of the Week (7/10)

Are You Aware...?:
...that Nigel Bryant is hitting .382 with 33 home runs, 72 RBI, 72 walks and an OPS of 1.220 and an OPS of 214?  Yeah, that means that his OPS is more than twice the league average.  His WAR is 8 -- and it's only (slightly past) midseason!

Significant Injuries:
Shackamaxon 2B John Grondin will miss 6 weeks with a torn ankle ligament.
London will be without Brian Frison for four weeks as he rehabilitates a fractured thumb.
Antelope Valley 3B Lawrence Richardson tore his meniscus and will be out for six weeks.
Jorge Hernandez will not be in the Armadillos lineup for about six weeks with shoulder tendinitis.
Reliever Merlin Bohon will be missing from the New York bullpen for two to three months with elbow tendinitis.
Houston will be missing Peter Roberts for three weeks.

Next sim: Next Sunday.  The next sim will only go to July 30, so as to allow for an extra week of trading.

Rain Delay

I didn't get a chance to run the sim on Sunday.  We'll try again for Monday.

Maui / Brick Trade; Maui / Seattle trade

Frequent trading partners Brick and Maui announced another deal today. The Maui Mashers have acquired underachieving SP Emilio Romero from the Brick Barracudas, in exchange for 1B/3B Octavio "Grandpa" Cabrales and A-ball prospect SS Mario Silva. Edit - and in a minor trade not worthy of a separate blog post, Seattle sends AAA 3B Carlos Gomez to Maui in exchange for a 4th round pick in next spring’s draft.

to shake things up i am now considering the trade of Emilio Romero SP and Ignaz Lopez RF ...I am looking to gain above average power hitting 3rd basemen and a prospect or  several hi prospects for the pair....Romero a solid number 3 starter despite the bad start Lopez a good starting right fielder<3 to 4 stars> in the past... willing to listen to offers

June I Sim

Game Date:  6/16/2023

Who uploaded?:
Antelope Valley
Atlanta
Brick
Hickory
Houston
London
Seattle
Shackamaxon

Standings:
Adams:  Brooklyn takes a one game lead over Hickory
Zotti:  Seattle added seven games to it's lead and is now 18 games ahead of Brick.
Signorino:  Maui's lead over New York is still six games.

Accomplishments and Awards:
Maui's Angel Banuelos named Player of the Week (6/5)
Seattle 1B Juan Gomez named Player of the Week (6/12)

Significant Injuries:
London CF Tomas Kalakay strained a rib cage muscle  and will miss 3-4 weeks.
The season is over for Houston's Rafael Rojas as he has a torn ulnar collateral ligament.
New York SP Dario Lopez will be sitting out 8-9 weeks with a partially torn labrum.

Game of the Sim:
Tough call -- there were a number of interesting games this sim.  There was a 15-1 drubbing of London by Brick,  an eight inning, one hit performance by Juan Villatoro and an epic pitchers' duel between Seattle Enrico Hernandez and London's Jefferey Brunton.

However, the game of the sim was the marathon seventeen inning affair between Hickory and Brick.   Brick took an 8-3 lead with a seven-spot in the bottom of the seventh.  However, London came back and tied it up in the top of the eighth with a five run inning.    After that, the bullpens took over.  Both teams were shut down until the 15th inning, when both teams pushed a run across.  Hickory finally put two more on the boards in the top of the 17th to give them the lead they wouldn't lose.  Game log.

Next Sim:  next weekend.

No Sim Last Night

I did not get a chance to run the sim last night.  We'll try again for tonight.
