Mac OS X 10.9.5 patch needed

Just an FYI, if you're on a Mac, and updated the latest Mavericks patch (10.9.5) this week, you need to install an OOTP 15 patch, or else the game will appear to be unlicensed, and unable to be re-licensed.

Full information and a link to download the OOTP 15 patch is here.

The Brooklyn Starting Rotation... Who'd Have Thunk It?

The Wolves rotation has been nothing short of horrendous so far this year.

Four members of the rotation are hold-overs from the team that made the playoffs last year:

Nicholas Vargas (last year 15-5, 3.87) is 1-3, 6.89.
Kevin Kepner (last year -- pitcher of the year, 18-8, 3.08) is 1-4, 9.36 (!)
William Lawrence (last year 10-14, 5.18) is 1-3, 5.56
Sean Rice (67 games in relief, 3.35) is 1-1, 7.16.

Who's the only bright spot in the rotation?

The 35-year-old journeyman with not a single major league game under his belt whom I took a flier on in the Rule 5 draft -- Timothy Conroy who, in six starts, is 3-2 with a 3.95 ERA.

Rain Delay

I was forced to surrender my laptop to my wife last night so that she can do actual, real work (Hers went down for a bit).  As a result, I didn't get to run the sim last night.

We'll do it tonight.

Shackamaxon can't stop retooling

Ignore the previous announcement of the finalization of the Shackamaxon Lenape opening day roster, as the team has made one more trade before the start of the 2025 season.

"We have re-acquired John Cooper from Brick. We needed rotation help, and Fred was glad to help us," Lenape GM Michael Weintraub explained. "We traded Coop to Brick a few years ago, and we're glad he's straightened out his career. Hopefully he'll flourish back on the better side of the Delaware River."

Heading to Brick are prospects Duncan Swanson (AAA OF) and Will Hickford (A MR).

"That's it," Weintraub promised. "We're done. Let's play some ball!"

AV April 1 Update

Anyone need any help with depth at 1B or Catcher?  I've got some young guys I can plug in behind my starters, so I'm shopping some depth.

1B  Carl Watson - Only 30 and still has pop in his bat, batting .268 last year with 18 dingers.  Would have been my starter this year if I hadn't traded for Alverez,  Also willing to move 1B Carlos Fernadez if you prefer.

C Lewis Bell - 32 y.o. defensive specialist (84/100/100 rating at C), decent contact hitter but with little power.  Also willing to move  Fernando Robles if not interested in Bell.  Robles also has a good defensive pedigree (80/92/100).

Looking for younger guys I can stick in the minors with similar potential, especially pitching.  Also willing to move these guys for picks, or package together for 1 better player.

Thanks
Bill
AV Raptors

April 1 Update:

AV has dealt Carlos Fernandez, along with OF Sojuro Tanaka (AA Sacramento) to Brick for AAA (bound) 3B Haden Andrews and 20 y.o. MI Mario Silva (AA Moose Jaw).  "We wanted to clear up some roster space and add some depth in our lower minors."  said GM Sauerwald.  "We feel like we accomplished this with the trade.  We have a little bit of an OF glut due to some recent deals, and we felt Silva has a little more upside than Tanaka".   It had been rumored that Brick was interested in AAA OF Dan Fisher, but with the injury to Cerda it appears Fisher is ML bound.  Silva will be assigned to AA Sac Town.

Shackamaxon acquires some firefighters

With the 2025 season upon us, and sky-high expectations in the City of Brotherly Love for the team that made it to the Cecil Cup finals last season, the Shackamaxon Lenape shored up its beleaguered bullpen.

In two separate deals with division rivals, the Lenape have acquired lefty Mike Campbell from Seattle and righty Kwang-sub Kim from Ohio. The Monarchs will receive the shell of once-dominant reliever Bill Dewall and a 4th round pick in the 2026 amateur draft in return for Campbell, and the Buckeyes will receive utility infielder Ken Moore for Kim.

Lenape GM Michael Weintraub explains: "We needed bullpen help, especially with Will Stout, Tsumich Yoshida, and spring surprise Jeff King on the DL. We think Kim will dominate in the closer's role for us, and Campbell should be able to provide some effective late innings, as well.

"We hated to lose Ken Moore, but with our minor league infield prospects knocking on the door, and our resigning of John Grondin, there really wasn't going to be a good chance for him to get regular work. We wish him all the best in Ohio."

With these moves, the Shackamaxon Lenape 25-man opening day roster is set:

Catchers: George Robinson and Bobby Krieger
Infielders: David Seibel, John Grondin, John Hukill, Miguel Martinez, Hernando Albacete, and Matt Stokes
Outfielders: Tomas Kalakay, Steve Keo, Jose Molina, Guy Imbeault*, and Santiago Salazar
Starting Pitchers: Ivan Gallardo, Scott Loman, Jermaine Earp, Jake Miller, and Dennis Durand*
Relief Pitchers: Kwang-sub Kim*, Adam Hone, Mike Campbell,* Tony Dominguez, Walker Hendricks*, Alonso Cruz*, and Ambroz Ondra

* = Offseason acquisitions

25-man roster check-in post

I thought I'd put this post up so owners can check in when they have lowered their active roster from the maximum 60 players (for spring training) to the normal 25 players, as required for the regular season.

Opening Day is the best day of the year, and I hate to see it delayed.

So, please reply to this thread when you have uploaded your team update with your active roster at 25 players.

As for me, with a vengeful eye across the continent towards Seattle, and a wary eye across the Schuylkill to that "other" Philadelphia team, Shackamaxon is ready to go.

Opening Day!

Game Date:  4/1/2025

Next Sim:  Sunday night.  *Please* make sure to have your active roster down to 25 players.

Significant Injuries:
Shackamaxon's Tsumich Yoshida is out for four weeks.
Brooklyn will be without closer Pino Pontoni for eight weeks.

Future Schedule;
The next sim will be Wednesday night.  That will be the final sim of Spring Training and will take us to Opening Day.
