Need Starting Pitching?

It looks like Seattle's veteran starters have made it through another offseason without needing to be replaced. As a consequence, I've got more good major league starting pitchers than I have spots for. Both of the guys below are age 27 and need a shot at the majors.

I'm not interested in giving either guy away, as my scout gives them about 4 stars each, and I probably could use them in another year or two or three. But I would think there is a team looking for an upgrade that is willing to make me an offer, in prospects and/or draft picks, that will be enticing.

I'd be willing to deal other starting pitchers too, but the prices for some might be considered too exorbitant. For instance, it's hard to see a situation where I'd trade Enrico Hernandez. But someone out there might have a great idea that makes sense for both teams.

Welcome To Spring Training!

The First-Year Player Draft has been completed and Spring Training has begun.

The first sim of Spring Training (covering one week) will be done on Saturday night.

The owner of the Barstow franchise has not sent in an update for a long time.  In addition, I have twice tried to contact him, to no avail.  I think it may be time to find a new owner for the franchise.  I will be opening up a thread on the SDMB for a new owner tomorrow.  If we don't find an owner from there, then we will see if the current owners have anyone who might be interested in joining.

Note concerning the draft and the Atlanta-Antelope Valley trade -- apparently you cannot trade draft picks in the game on draft day.  As a result, I manually changed the two draft picks from Antelope Valley to Atlanta.  I then traded Richardson to Antelope Valley.  Since you can't trade a player for nothing, I added $1 to both sides of the deal.

FREE (Almost) to a good home

I don't have too many good things in Atlanta, but I have too many ML catchers so I would like to trade one of them.  So if you want to give up something (not much) for either John Dash or Gerardo Herrera I will be willing to trade them.  If you need a starter or a back up Atlanta is where you want to go shoot me an e-mail and we will deal.

Draft Delay

We have one owner who is having password problems.  Since the sim with the amateur draft is a very important one, I want to give everyone every reasonable opportunity to participate.  So, we're going to reschedule the draft for Tuesday evening.

Antelope Valley and Atlanta Announce Trade.

Fresh on the heels of signing FA C Lewis Bell, the Raptors have completed a trade for the Atlanta Hurricanes' 24 year old, future superstar C Lawrence Richardson.  AV gives up their 1st Round pick (#5 overall) and a 5th rounder this year.  With these 2 moves the Raptors have taken a preseason weakness and turned it into a strength, speeding up the rebuilding process just a little bit more.
