Disabled List

I've been giving some thought to the matter that Nate mentioned regarding the disabled list.

Stopping the sim after a particular day is a pain in the neck, especially if more than one team wants the sim stopped at a particular date.

However, I can stop the sim after each week. So, I think an idea that might be workable is to allow teams to move players off the disabled list after each week. This, in effect, makes the 15-day DL into a 21-day DL. Still not ideal, but better than a 4 week wait.

However, I'm going to put some restrictions on this:

1. The only roster moves I'll do after the week are moves relating to taking players off the DL.

2. If you want me to take a player off the DL and put him on the major league roster, you must provide for me an open space on the roster or advise how you want the roster spot cleared.

Comments? Suggestions?

  1. As loathe as I am to suggest extending the sim lengths, why don't you just sim 15 days at a time, rather than two weeks?

  2. Because the "Sim A Week" option doesn't sim 7 days... it sims until the end of the week.

If I were to just sim 15 days, then after the first sim, I'd be one day over the week. I'd have to remember for the next sim to go until two days over, then until three days over for the next one, and so on.

  3. I'm comfortable with this plan. My main concerns would be (1) that whatever system we use doesn't result in delays in the simming of the games and (2) that it doesn't overburden Zev.

Since Zev is the one proposing it, I guess it's not too burdensome.

As to my first concern, if someone isn't paying attention and does nothing, then it just means that their player sits on the DL without coming off. If they don't give Zev the necessary roster move info, then the player just sits there. I don't see how that delays the sim.

    So, this works for me.

  4. I'm comfortable with what Zev thinks will work. I'm just pointing out the logic flaw in the way we're set up.

The only other option I could see would be to reduce the games-per-sim to one week to minimize the hit. And I don't think Zev is all about that.
