Next Sim on Sunday Night

OK, so it seems that my coaching plan has passed. Just to formalize it, so that we all know the rules, here they are:

1. Any team may, over the course of the 2013 REGULAR season release any of the coaches/scouts that were assigned to them during the upgrade from 6.5 to 9. The team will be reimbursed for any unearned salary that they have to pay the coach.

2. In order to receive a refund, the team must release the coach AND send notification to myself and/or Michael.

3. This rule does not apply to any coach who is signed during the 2013 season to a contract or an extension. (i.e. if you release a coach, then sign him back to a 3 year deal, you don't get to re-release him again with a refund).

4. The last time a team may take advantage of this rule is the sim of the first playoff game.

That being said, I think we're ready to move on. I'll be running the next two weeks on Sunday night. So, send in your updates with coaching releases, etc.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

  1. The current league date is Jan. 2, so if the next sim moves us forward 14 days, will the new league date be Jan. 16? And if so, does this mean we are repeating spring training? I'm a little confused because I thought we did that prior to the conversion.

  2. I was looking at ML service time for my players and noticed that some of them had some time even though they have never been in the ML. You may want to check your players.

  3. Send notifications to Zev AND me, not OR. Unlike the OEL, we don't have a schedule for who does what sims, although Zev does most of the in-season sims.

The league date will be Jan 16, Matt. I don't think Spring Training will be re-run this offseason. The next date on the Auto-run to... menu (the baseball on the top menu bar) is Opening Day.

So, since we already ran spring training, there's no need to do it again this offseason. This is good because players get an extra four months to recover from injuries (a player I had previously lost for the season looks like he'll be healthy by August, for example).
