  1. Super agent Scott Boras wants to point out that John Hukill, one of the greatest SDMB players of all time, has set a career-high in home runs this season with 51. At the tender age of 36, he looks better than ever.

Hukill incidentally will be a free agent this off-season and all contract inquiries can be directed to Mr. Boras.

  2. So. After a great season, in the last two weeks my manager decides to lean heavily on the middling minor leaguers I brought up on September 1 for roster depth instead of on the players who had put the team in first place through that point. This results in a four-win sim, and means that Hickory gets to once again lose to Seattle in the first round as it has done every time the franchise has made the playoffs. Ever. Bah!

In better news, longtime Husker Paul Shunk - the franchise's best player of all time - continues his excruciating crawl toward 500 home runs. He needs four to get there, which means it'll probably happen in April next year. Shunk for the Hall of Fame!
