Signorino:  Maui has an eleven game lead over New York
Wild Card:  Brooklyn leads Shacakamaxon, Brick and New York by fourteen games.

Awards and Accomplishments:
New York 2B Gene Reynolds named Player of the Week (8/21)
Atlanta 1B Paul Ellis named Player of the Week (8/28)
Seattle 2B Norman Kuhn named Batter of the Month.
Ohio starter Alonso Chlula named Pitcher of the Month
Ohio 1B Luis Rodriguez named Rookie of the Month.

Significant Injuries:
New York's William Connolly has a herniated disk and is done for the year.
London's Tomas Kalakay is out for five weeks with a fractured finger.
Houston's Kyung-hwan Pak strained a hamstring and will miss 4-5 weeks.

Milestones:
Brooklyn's Dennis Durand recorded his 2000th strikeout, making him the 16th pitcher to reach that plateau.

  1. An epic playoff fail is coming for the Seattle Monarchs. The regular season has gone far, far too well.

    By the way, regardless of how the last month comes out, this has been an amazing turnaround by Hickory. Dead last among all 12 teams last season and now headed for the playoffs and a possible division title.That's pretty awesome.
