  1. As we approach the post-season, I am reminded of the singular genius of Jim Mora.

"What’s that? Ah — Playoffs? Don’t talk about — playoffs? You kidding me? Playoffs? I just hope we can win a game! Another game."

I'd prefer to link to the video, but I can't get it to work in a comment.

  2. Let's visit another imaginary universe, where there are two Wild Card teams. While Maui and Antelope Valley are fighting for the division title, both are still in play for the final Wild Card spot.

In that race, Appalachian has a four game lead with six to play, but Antelope Valley (or Maui), Shackamaxon, and even Houston are still alive as the final sim approaches. All want their chance to face Brick in the Wild Card round, but, instead, all are planning for 2030 and beyond.

  3. I would support adding another wild card playoff spot.

  4. I also would support adding another playoff spot, with my preference being that the two wild-card teams fight to move on rather than giving a bye to the #1 seed.

Also on my potential rule change wish list:

    1. Longer minor league seasons, to stretch the A, AA, and AAA seasons into early September and give prospects more playing time to develop, especially defensively. Two rounds of minor league playoffs too. That stuff is just pure fun.

    2. Change the rookie league to include players under the age of 22 (21 years old or younger), rather than new players. I've got some high school players whom I have to promote to A-ball who aren't remotely good enough to play there. Also reduces commissioner workload to set a hard age cap, I think.

    3. Division realignment. It's time to mix up the divisions a bit. I'd be ok with either random realignment or something where the realignment is based on teams' recent performance.

I'm sure I have a few other proposals gathering cobwebs somewhere, but those are the three that come to mind.
