Days 14-16, Round 5 results

Finally, the big signings have been made. The two biggest free agents this offseason have signed, one to a perennial big spender (umm, yours truly), and the other to the computer-guided Hartford franchise.

Day 14:
  • Hartford: Free agent 2B Timothy Palacio has been signed to a contract of $8,987,000 per year, for 4 years.
  • Brooklyn: Free agent P Guillermo Bazan has been signed to a contract of $850,000 per year, for 2 years.
Day 15:
  • Los Angeles: Free agent C Bill Grim has been signed to a contract of $350,000 per year, for 1 years.
Day 16:
  • Los Angeles: Free agent 1B Ronald Aikin has been signed to a contract of $13,500,000 per year, for 4 years.
  • Hartford: Free agent P Alex Pedroza has been signed to a contract of $424,000 per year, for 1 years.
Round 5 of the draft is also complete. Round 6 (and the rest of the draft, if Jeremy would please stop sending in his picks :P) will be Tuesday night, as will days 17-20 of free agency.

Finally, Happy Rosh Hashanah to everyone! Between the (real) baseball playoffs (Go Phils!) and the impending start of our 2013 season, it's a great time of year!
