Draft Done. Welcome to Spring Training 2014!

The amateur draft has been completed. Personally, I'd love to fast-forward five years and see how this wacky draft worked out... but I suppose I'll have to wait just like everyone else.

In the meantime, we are now at Spring Training. I'll be running ST one week at a time, for a total of four ST sims. You can find information on how ST is running at the online game manual.

The first week of ST will be run on Saturday night.

  1. Sweeet. I'm excited to see how Spring Training plays out in a league. I've messed around with it in test leagues, but this should be fun.

  3. I'm no font of wisdom, but here's what I'm planning to do:

    1. Call up enough guys that my starters only play half the games. Any more just seems to unnecessarily risk injury (elevated risk during spring training, according to the manual).

    2. Call up lots of pitchers too. I'm experimenting with a six-man staff during ST.

    3. Use it as an opportunity to teach players new positions. They pick them up more quickly in ST than during the regular season.

  4. Do minor-leaguers called up for ST get major league contracts for their troubles, even if they're demoted before the season starts?

  5. Looks like the link answered my question (No, they don't get major league service, which I guess implies that they don't get major league money, either). RTFA, Michael!
