July I: Who uploaded

Cleveland
Hickory
Houston
Los Angeles
Maui
New York
River Cities
Seattle

Also, please note that I'm still figuring out where everything goes on the new server. For now, you can find the league reports here.

The next sim will take us through July 30, so as to allow trading for one more sim. And, as a reminder, injured players (even if they aren't on the DL) cannot be traded.

Next sim (July 16-30) will be next Wednesday.

  1. That's one heck of a wild card race in the Adams league. Four teams with identical 43-46 records?

  2. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this league has achieved some measure of parity, at least once we get past Seattle and River Cities. Half of the teams in the league have the same record. HALF!

  3. We should all form our own division.

  4. I think we should have re-elignment...one division with Seattle and River Cities, the other with everyone else...I think it woudl make for a very interesting league.

  5. If anyone wants to virtually lock up the wild card and a chance at a championship by trading for Dong Lutz, you know where to find me. He's the best hitter in the game (1.080 OPS, 56.3 VORP in just over half a season this year). You also get a chance to negotiate a contract extension with him, as I have too many other guys I need to lock up to afford him. So, I'm willing to go ahead and move him for the right return.

Flags fly forever and all that and there's no good reason a wild card team can't pull a couple upsets and win a title. I'm just saying.

  6. Also, I'll confess I'm fairly intrigued to see what would happen in a 162 game season where Nate and I play noone else but each other's teams.

  7. I really do think that you guys playing 162, and the rest of us playing each other on both ends would be very exciting.

  8. If I get a chance, I'll try to do an alternate-universe simulation of such a season this weekend.

Anyway, I haven't had any time to look things over except that I went 6-3 this sim and have started to climb the standings. That's good. I think I still have a hole or two to patch, but I'll see what I need tonight or this weekend.

Of course, if you know what I need, you know how to reach me.

  9. Oh, does anyone want to guess how this could have happened?

    A. Callahan was injured on a defensive play. The Diagnosis: swollen ear. This is a day-to-day injury expected to last 3 days.

  10. While waiting to catch a fly ball, he was stung by a bee.

  11. A really, really bad throw by a fellow outfielder while Mr. Callahan was admiring the sunbathing beauties in the stands?
