Topics to DiscussThere are a number of topics that were brought up in recent posts.  These include:

  • Possibly upgrading to OOTP 13 for the next season
  • A possible change in the sim schedule during the early part of the season.

Please let me know your thoughts on these matters.

  1. Glad to see the Monarchs finally start to wake up with an 11-3 sim. If only the Zotti league weren't so dang tough.

Anyway, on the questions of the hour, Seattle is supportive of upgrading to OOTP 13 after the season and, as I said before, neutral on the question of changing the schedule for early-season sims.

Moving to the latest version of the game will help us get new owners. It's also got lots of bells and whistles that are worth having. I'll be very interested to see how some players do in the defensive stats of the newer versions. Plus, upgrading always kind of upsets the apple cart in terms of randomizing the value of players. Never sure if good players before an upgrade will be good after the upgrade and some players that don't look good suddenly become good. All in all, that seems fair and worth it to me.

  2. Play more games against Shackamaxon, Mack. We're the paper lions of the Zotti league this year.

Anyway, I'm in favor of upgrading to OOTP13 after this season, as well as adjusting the early season schedule.

  3. Oh, Zev: David Seibel doesn't play for Monck's Corner, as much as Nate would like him to. He's still a Lenape.

  4. Another career ending injury for a Steamer starting pitcher...guess I should be used to it now. Now calling up my best pitcher in A because I think that is all I have left...

  5. Jeremy, it seems like it is time to fire your team trainer if you haven't already done so! Cleveland has been hit hard lately.

I am in favor of upgrading to OOTP 13. Not sure about adjusting the April schedule. If the plan is to run sims more frequently during that time period to compensate, then I would be fine with it. If sims would continue to be run on a weekly basis, then I would not be in favor of it. But it's not a big deal either way.
