September II sim run

And that's all for the 2020 regular season, folks! For eight of us owners (well, seven, not counting the zombie Danville team), we're done, not only with the 2020 season, but also with OOTP 9. *sniff*

So, how did the season end?

Seattle won the Zotti Division, with 108 wins, squeaking ahead of Saskatoon. No worries on the Canadian prairie, however, as playoff baseball will be played in the Great White North, after all: Saskatoon bested division rival Ohio by six games. My own team, the once-mighty Shackamaxon Lenape finished fourth with 76 wins.

I mention that for reasons that will be clear in the next paragraph. Before we get to the "thrilling" conclusion of the Adams Division "pennant race" (I use those terms very loosely), Maui finished with 100  wins, a nice even number, and won the Signorino Division over Houston by 23 games.

Which brings us, alas, to the Adams Division. It's no surprise that the first two picks in the 2021 Amateur Draft are owned by Adams Division teams, as both Cleveland (56 wins) and Monck's Corner (64 wins) finished with more wins than the aforementioned zombies of Danville. Nice job, Jeremy and Nate! Those two teams at least can smile knowing that they'll have a great prospect next season. Another team's owner will be thrilled with a few extra dollars of playoff revenue and a lottery ticket, while one owner will have absolutely nothing to look forward to this postseason. And, that owner, alas, is everyone's favorite commissioner, Zev. His Brooklyn Wolves just couldn't recover from that horrific losing streak earlier this season and slipped four games behind the Adams Division champion Hickory Huskers, winner of all of 74 games.

Yes, the Adams Division champion won two less games than my own Lenape, get to host at least two playoff games, and just might pull out of a miracle. I'm not (too) bitter. Feel badly, if you must, for David, whose Ohio Buckeyes won 101 games (one more than Maui, who won their division in a laugher).

Anyway, the post season matchups are:

Hickory vs Seattle
Saskatoon vs Maui

It was a short sim, so there was only one Player of the Week, and he's 2B John Grondin of Shackamaxon. Way to earn those 28 million dollars, John!

Zev's got the conn from here; he'll let you all know when Game 1 of the postseason will be simmed. Frank, Mack, Matt, and Eric: Get your rosters back down to 25!

The league file is up. Go Huskers!
