Game Date:
September 1, 2020

Who Uploaded?
Hickory
Houston
Maui
Monck's Corner
New York
Ohio
Seattle
Shackamaxon

Standings:
Adams:  Hickory's five game lead over Brooklyn has shrunk to a single game.
Zotti:  This division keeps changing hands.  Now it's Seattle up by one.
Signorino:  Maui's lead is now doubled and stands at fourteen games.
Wild Card:  Saskatoon now leads Ohio by two games.

Awards and Accomplishments:

Lindsay Walker of the Monck's Corner Moncks was named Player of the Week (8/17)
Houston's Nigel Bryant named Player of the Week (8/24)
Seattle's Bas Bijkerk hits for the cycle (8/29)
Seattle's Tyler Thomas named Player of the Week (8/31)
Houston's Nigel Bryant named Batter of the Month
Seattle's Juan Morales named Pitcher of the Month

Significant Injuries:

Maui's Ferdinand Pineda tore his labrum and retired.  Interestingly enough, the game in which he suffered his career-ending injury was his 100th (and last) career victory.

Milestones:
Luis Jeon (a player whom I wrote off last year after a *horrible* season and is now having a monster season) scored his 1500th run, becoming the first player to reach that mark.

Next Sim:
Next Wednesday night.

  1. Some unbelievable races this year. I put together some charts showing the division races over time. The column is games above or below .500. It's pretty interesting, IMHO.

In the Adams Division, we have the second 13-game losing streak by a division leader, as apparently nobody wants to win that division.

In the Zotti Division, the three teams have traded off the chance to be in front and it's very hard to see who will win in the end. All three squads played very well last sim. Likely, it will come down to those last few head-to-head series.

By the way, Nigel Bryant of Houston is having an amazing season. What a beast.
