The OOTP 15 League File has been posted to the site (see the link in the links section to the right) and is available for download. Please download the file and install it to your games. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
I had a weird issue where the unpacked file lost its .lg extension when I tried to load it in the game, but quitting the game and renaming the directory to have the necessary .lg before re-opening the game fixed it.
Only remaining issue? John Grondin wants way too much to resign with me.
The download doesn't work for me at all. The file is stored on my computer, but OOTP does not recognize it as a league file. Do you know if this file format is Mac-compatible? I have the Mac version of the game and I've never had a trouble with the downloads before.
Frank: Look at my comment, above. I'm on a Mac and was able to get it going.
You need to make sure that the directory ends with .lg and that all of the files and directories (including, and especially, world.dat) are in ~/Library/Application Support/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP Baseball 15/saved_games/
Having had to spend a half hour helping Fred get the game running last night (on Windows), I'm surprised that the game is still so hard to set up for inexperienced users.
Yeah, I noticed they moved the location of the saved league files, at least on a Mac. It took me a few minutes to figure that one out, but after that I was up and running.
No, it's still not working at all. The file doesn't lose its extension when it is downloaded, but the computer doesn't seem to have any idea what kind of file it is. It's not a folder, with subfolders and files associated with it - it arrives as a generic "document," with a generic document icon that the computer doesn't recognize. I tried moving it into the saved games folder at the path Michael suggested, then quitting the game entirely, renaming the file with the .lg extension (though it never lost that extension in the first place), then re-opening, but the game still doesn't recognize the file as usable (and, unlike the new game I created to test the game, I can't open the league file and view the contents).
I think I figured it out - I unpacked the RAR file on my old computer, put the resulting folder into DropBox, and am now transferring it, albeit verrrrrrrrrrrrry slowly, via DropBox to my new computer on which I'll be playing the game. I also put a copy of the game on my old computer, so I should be able to send an update later tonight to verify that it works. Thanks, everyone, for your patience!
Not sure if it is just me, but I am having trouble downloading the file. It is taking a long while and getting hung up a lot.
ReplyDeleteJeremy,
ReplyDeleteI reduced the size of the file by 33% by removing stuff that's not needed. Please try again.

FYI, I had no problems downloading the file yesterday morning and getting it up and running.
ReplyDeleteIt worked today, and I am up and running.

ReplyDeleteFrank,
ReplyDeleteLet us know if you need more help or if Michael's advice was helpful. I'd like to schedule the next sim.
Thanks,

ReplyDeleteI have no idea what to do from here.
Frank,
ReplyDeleteI just emailed you some screenshots on how things should look. Let me know if you need more help.
I used a program called The Unarchiver (http://unarchiver.c3.cx/) to unpack the .RAR file that Zev uploaded into the right folder name.
