Shackamaxon/London trade

The Shackamaxon Lenape and London Dragons have a trade to announce:

Shackamaxon sends SP John Cooper and AA 2B Tom Martin to London for SP Bruce Roughley.

Lenape GM Michael Weintraub explains: "This move was more about the future than the present. We have a lot of good infield prospects in the low minors we wanted to promote, and this move frees up a spot for one of them. We also feel that Roughley is a better starting option for our playoff chase."

Time will tell if Shackamaxon regrets losing either Cooper or Martin, or both...

Just A Reminder...

... that the trading deadline is this sim.  Get those trades in.  :)

Shackamaxon/Maui trade

Last season, the Maui Mashers and the Shackamaxon Lenape faced off in a thrilling LCS battle that was won by the Lenape in seven games. That series seemed to tip the fortunes of the Mashers, as they have disappointed this season, not even a year after winning 95 games and the Signorino League pennant.

In exchange for top 1B prospect Luis Lozano and a 3rd round pick in the 2026 amateur draft, the Mashers have agreed to send starter Bartolo Olivarez and closer Carlos Árias to the Lenape.

Shackamaxon GM Michael Weintraub explains, "We have started making a move in the wild-card chase, but our pitching is still lagging behind the offense. There have been some improvements to the bullpen, with the return of Will Stout and emergence of stud prospect Carlos Placeres. We're just adding Árias to the mix. Olivarez will slide into the back of the rotation and hopefully stabilize it."

As for the loss of top prospect Lozano, Weintraub stated, curtly, that incumbent first baseman David Seibel is under contract through next season. He was noncommittal when asked about extending Seibel beyond 2026.

June II Sim Done

I ran the sim (late) last night, but did not stay up for the reports to finish.  As a result, you can download the league file and perform your weekly tasks, but the report pages on the site have not been updated, nor have I written a sim summary.  I will take care of those tonight.

Angry Infielder Wants Better, or at Least Different, Job

Seattle Monarchs infielder Ivan Castillo is apparently tired of winning and is unhappy in Seattle. Maybe he doesn't like coffee. Maybe he got on the bad side of Russell Wilson, who runs this town these days. Who knows? It doesn't matter. He is though fed up with being the injury sub in Seattle and wants out of town. I am not the kind of guy who wants to destroy people's happiness, so this post.

I'm not saying he's free, but Castillo is very, very cheaply priced. I need to call up someone who can play SS for a game here or there and Castillo isn't that guy.

Castillo is a guy though with a career .300 batting average over seven seasons. A guy with an .842 career OPS. A guy who has always been an excellent fill-in starter when one of my star infielders has gone down.

If you have any interest, make me an offer. Looking for a draft pick, and not a high one. Not high at all.
