Shackamaxon/Maui trade

Last season, the Maui Mashers and the Shackamaxon Lenape faced off in a thrilling LCS battle that was won by the Lenape in seven games. That series seemed to tip the fortunes of the Mashers, as they have disappointed this season, not even a year after winning 95 games and the Signorino League pennant.

In exchange for top 1B prospect Luis Lozano and a 3rd round pick in the 2026 amateur draft, the Mashers have agreed to send starter Bartolo Olivarez and closer Carlos Árias to the Lenape.

Shackamaxon GM Michael Weintraub explains, "We have started making a move in the wild-card chase, but our pitching is still lagging behind the offense. There have been some improvements to the bullpen, with the return of Will Stout and emergence of stud prospect Carlos Placeres. We're just adding Árias to the mix. Olivarez will slide into the back of the rotation and hopefully stabilize it."

As for the loss of top prospect Lozano, Weintraub stated, curtly, that incumbent first baseman David Seibel is under contract through next season. He was noncommittal when asked about extending Seibel beyond 2026.
