... when you don't pick until the middle or late in the first round of the draft and, lo and behold, you got the guy you rated as your #1 pick. Did you just score a major coup? Or are you the only one who saw him as being worth a high pick at all?

For what it's worth, White was #1 on my draft board, and I offered Will a princely sum to move up to #1 in order to draft him. To see that he fell to #7, one spot before me, is going to sting.
ReplyDeleteUnless you get second thoughts and want to talk trade... :)
White was #4 on my list. He only has 2 pitches which makes him a MR/Closer, which is very useful, but I like to get SP with my top picks. I had Suarez, Poli and Reyes above him.
ReplyDeleteI had White listed #7, because of the pitch count thing.
ReplyDeleteI had White as my #1, but I had Graham Scott a close #2 - who fell to me at 9 (yeah!). The only 1st rounder not in my top 12 was Leon Santos. My scout only had 2 guys above 2.5 Stars, so I mostly used the canned scout. BTW, I submitted 55 names, and my last two picks were #54 and #55, so I guess I allocated that perfectly!
