Draft's Done!

Next spring training sim:  Sunday night

  1. Best sim of the entire season. I love draft day. Although, it was a little weird not to see the players flooding into my A-ball roster.

What are the rules about filling out the rookie roster? I assume we can't demote players into that level, right? We just need to fill in with free agents?

    1. Well, you're not supposed to demote players, but I don't think there's anyway to enforce that. We could enforce an age limit, and the roster limit will be set to 35 on Opening Day.

    2. I think a one demotion allowance would be a good thing, since the draft only went 15 rounds. After that, a hard age limit is probably better than trying to track who played where for what years. If you draft a 26 yr old rookie, it's probably best if he slots in above Rookie League anyway.

    3. Woo hoo! A new home for the aging vets who can't cut it in the majors any more but who need homes in the Seattle system to finish out their careers!

      Just kidding. Mostly. Probably.

    5. I think Bill has a good idea. I'll let Zev weigh in and decide, but I'm thinking something like this:

      1. Only a 35-man roster limit for this 2028 season.
      2. A 35-man roster limit and a 22-year-old age limit for 2029 and on.

  2. I'm very happy with my draft results. I spent hours making my ranks, and I was able to come away with 4 of my top 10 and 9 of my top 25.

Of course, since I went pitching happy (one of them has got to pan out, right...?), I need some more hitters in the rookie level.
