Answer to the last trivia question:
Actually, I'm kind of surprised that no one even took a shot at it, so I'm going to put it out there for one more try...
Specifically, which Hall of Fame pitcher* did not earn his first major league win until nearly five years after his major league debut.
(* Only players elected as pitchers should be considered... so Jimmie Foxx, who earned his first [and only] pitching victory 20 years after his major league debut does not count.)
Administrative Note: Saturday night (when the next sim is run) is the deadline to vote in the thread about rookie league changes. Please make sure to cast your vote.
Administrative Note II: I'm sorry, everyone, but in a completely Fred Merkle-ish moment, I forgot to download the changes to everyone's lineups. My apologies. Unfortunately, I can't go back and re-run the sim, or else I would have already done so. :(
Next sim: Saturday night -- game one of the playoffs.
Hi Zev, is the issue that you don't have the prior league file because you did not run the previous sim? If so, could Michael re-run it? I'm asking because the roster changes I submitted reorganized my starting rotation, and without those changes they are now tired and unable to pitch.
ReplyDeletehi the answer to the question was Warren Spahn 1941-1963 he missed 3 and half because of WW2 which is why it took 5 years to get first win and finished with 363 i believe started with the Braves and finished with the NY Mets AND SF Giants at the end
ReplyDeleteHi again I understand some want a rerun but if you do and now I lose players to injury I would be unhappy with that
ReplyDeleteThat's true, I wouldn't want that either. It's not a big deal. It's not like I was going to beat Seattle anyway, with or without rested starters! Haha.
ReplyDelete(I'm speaking solely as an owner of a team not as a commissioner.)
ReplyDelete1. I had set my roster to completely rest my rotation, elite relievers, and entire lineup. I even called up some scrubs from single A and AA to fill out my rotation, all to prevent injuries. Fortunately no one was hurt.
2. My rotation is out of sync, however, but I can work with that.
3. If I were you Matt, I'd trade the messed up rotation for Seattle losing Hendricks to injury, but that's just me. :)
