Commissioner's Note: Please note that we are getting close to Opening Day. The next sim will be the final full week sim of Spring Training.
Really Tough Trivia Question:
(since no one took a stab at it last time, you get the same question :) :p )
There is only one player who has exactly the same number of hits for a franchise as the number of games he played for that franchise (with a minimum of 1000 games for that franchise). Who is the player and which team?
Example: Carlos Delgado played 468 games for the New York Mets and has 468 hits for the franchise. But only person has done it with a minimum of 1000 games. Who is it?
Next Sim: Sunday night
Zev, I have no basis whatsoever for a guess to your question, so will answer Eddie Murray because, why not?
ReplyDeleteWill you be stopping the next sim before April 1, or go all the way up to April 1? Just trying to figure out who I need to send down now to avoid getting a day of major league time credited to them.
I clarified this with Zev last night: Sunday night's sim will be for seven days, taking us to 3/31/31 (ooh!). That is the day before Opening Day.
DeleteSunday night's sim will be for one day to take us to Opening Day.
So, you can finish the final three games of spring training with your full spring roster, and not have to make any moves before Sunday night.
Does that make sense?
Thanks Michael. I assume you mean that some sim after Sunday (Monday?) will be for that extra day to get to Opening Day.
DeleteYes, sorry, that's exactly what I meant. While I won't speak for Zev, this is the schedule as I foresee it:
DeleteSunday (12/3): Sim to 3/31
Monday (12/4): Sim to 4/1 -- Opening Day
Wednesday (12/6): OPENING DAY (take 1)
Thursday (12/7): OPENING DAY (take 2, because we never have everyone compliant with 25-man rosters)
Saturday (12/9): OPENING DAY (for real this time, as Zev or I make roster moves from laggard teams to get us ready for the season to start)
Sunday (12/10): I make a league suggestion post with formal punishments for teams who do not have their 25-man rosters ready for Opening Day in the future.
I'm gonna say Chris Chambliss
