Seattle Ships Out Beloved Star and Promising Prospects, Recieves Only Mere Reliever

July 15, 2017 - SEATTLE (AP) - The Seattle Monarchs, after welcoming beloved star hitter Gregory Mudge back into their arms just last season, after bemoaning the poor decision that led to Mr. Mudge being traded, has now dealt away the Seattle fans' hero yet again. Despite hitting .333/.364/.602 last season and carrying the Monarchs back to a title, Mudge was plunked on the bench for some Johnny-come-lately named Gregorio Marzano. The new "Greg M." at first base has been passable this season, but not much more.

In addition to sending away Mudge, the Monarchs sent off two of the most promising minor league arms in the game: AAA starters Jesus Concepcion and Claudio Gonzales. Seattle also included a fourth-round pick in next Spring's draft.

"They dealt away both my favorite player AND a guy named Jesus?" exclaimed diehard Monarchs fan Joe Schmoe. "What, they couldn't put Mohammed and Moses into the deal too?"

And who did Seattle get back for this bounty? A mere reliever. Some dork named Junior Cuomo. Please. As if a reliever could possibly be good enough to justify this haul of talent.

This appears to be another sign of Seattle Owner/GM Mack Shultz's declining faculties. Hopefully someone will be along soon to relieve him of his day-to-day responsibilities.

On the DL

FYI: I suffered a computer crash over the weekend that is going to severely limit my league activities for a while. In fact, I may need to ask Zev to put my team on CPU control until I can get back in the saddle.
