  1. What a start to the season. My team is finally playing like I knew they could and should. After starting the season 4-11, Atlanta has run off 21 wins in their next 27 games (including taking 2 of 3 in Seattle). Tied for the lead in the Adams division, I am hoping that we can keep this up.

We are led by the 1-2 punch of Metcalf and Garcia, possibly the best #1 and #2 SP in the league (start debate now)...and a lineup that is seeing the very economical Mark Smith be on pace for 54 HR and 174 RBI while batting over .300 for the season..I hope he keeps it up. And Sherman has started off his year with a bang with 4 HR in his first 14 starts and an OPS of 1.042. Keep it up old man.

I think this team can contend and win it all...Go Hurricanes!!!!

  2. Overall the Buckeyes have exceeded expectations this year, but consistency is not their game...

On the 3rd, Maui shut them out 8-0 behind a CG SHO from Baird. They then ran off 5 straight wins against Maui and London, immediately followed by another CG SHO (this time from Hickory's Klein) that started a 5 game losing streak. Feast or famine, I guess.

On the plus side, my decision to stick with Guillermo Medina at catcher appears to be a wise one, as he's following up his solid rookie campaign by hitting .373 over the first month and a half of the season. Fred Kennedy who?

  3. Oops, Dave Klein pitches for Antelope Valley, not Hickory. I can read, I swear...

  4. Despite a 6-8 record this sim, and losing starter Bruce Roughley for a few sims, there are signs of improvement with the beleaguered Lenape pitching staff. The team ERA went down by a full run over the course of the sim, and each of my other four starters performed better. The wheat and the chaff of my bullpen is easier to distinguish, too.

I'm getting Matt Stokes back, which gives me flexibility in my lineup, as well.
