Apparently, a new migration pattern is taking hold between Seattle and London. Two weeks after centerfielder Brandon Reed was dealt to the Dragons, Monarchs reliever Masatake Shibata packed his bags and boarded a British Airways long-haul flight for the UK.
"Brandon apparently called Shibata and told him a lot of good things about London," said Seattle GM/Owner Mack Shultz. "Something about crumpets and bangers and mash and a lot of other things that sounded made up to me. I guess Shibata liked what he heard though, because he wants to go there now too. Luckily, Scott was willing to make that happen."
In return, Seattle netted a sixth-round pick in next year's draft, also known as a guy who will probably get cut in two years.
