So, how much of your total payroll is wasted in the minors or on the disabled list? By my count, I have $9,761,111 in money spent on players on the DL or in AAA. Of course, $5 million of that is for James Larson, who just went on the DL (and will be there for the next two months). But, that still leaves $9,761,111 of my total $87,412,540 payroll that is being wasted in my hunt for a fifth straight title.
Sure, I can afford that 11%, but I'm curious if I'm the only one throwing away that much money.
Lenard Matz $300,000
ReplyDeleteGene Brobst $300,000
Willis Welliver $300,000
Total: $900,000 out of a total payroll of $79,671,076, which comes to about 1.1%.

Boris Harris, $300K. That's it for me. That's 0.3% of my payroll.
ReplyDeleteSorry Michael, but most of us don't stash a bunch of major leaguers in AAA.
Besides, I suspect Nate will argue that all of your payroll is wasted. Who cares what you pay if you don't make the playoffs?
- Mack
Well, to be fair, I don't think you can call Joel Ertel ($2.25M) a major leaguer any more (heck, with his ratings [I don't think you can call him an A-ball player anymore!).
ReplyDeleteJose Abraca, OTOH, could make it onto several teams.
You silver tongued devil, Mack! You took the words right out of my mouth!
ReplyDeleteFor me?
$12,050,000 or 15.07%. But it's distorted by Starner who'll be out for 3 more weeks.
Starner $8,500,000
Green $2,500,000
Costilla $750,000
Diaz $300,000
Of those three only Green is an albatross. He got old quickly and he's up for FA after this year. Goodbye!
Actually, I see Harris is making $350,000. That raises the percentage to almost 0.4%.
ReplyDeleteOh, I forgot Ertel in my calculations. I would release him, but, what's the use? It would still cost me his salary, and perhaps he might be useful come September.
ReplyDeleteHow? Bus boy?
ReplyDeleteInnings eater while I rest my regulars for the Cup finals.
