BTW... anyone have any advice on how to run a Perl script in an HTML page?

  1. Well, the Junior Cuomo experiment performed about as well as I'd hoped. A few innings of dominant pitching leads way to five to six innings of bullpen stretching.

Two starts, six and a third total innings, but two shutouts by the Scorpions.

  2. And yet you lost another game in the standings. Funny ol' world, what?

  3. I believe this makes FIVE consecutive sims where Trevor and I have been tied. Of those five, wev're been tied with Zev twice, one game ahead of Zev twice and, in a fit of insanity, four games behind Zev once.

But really, five consecutive sims with Trevor and I tied? Are you kidding me?

  4. I've already looked at the big picture for most of the seasons of this league. Now, it's time to look at the little things.

Like, for example, Troy Nelson's 100th career win. Yay Troy!

  5. Anyone with some help on the HTML question?

    Here's the thing:

I'd like to put something on the front page that says when the last time each owner uploaded. This way, the owners can see if their upload made it or not.

I can write a Perl program to do it, but I have no idea how to call it from the HTML page.

    Any ideas?

  6. Do you have PHP support with your hosting plan? I bet you can do it easily with a PHP call to that script.

I haven't done this sort of thing in ages, so unfortunately, I'm not of much help beyond that.

  7. See, the past eight seasons have been merely a drawn-out prelude up to this year, when I plan to defeat Mack in a one-game playoff to claim the Adams league title.

It's nice to see everything is going according to plan.

  8. Zev-

I know one of the leagues I was in had something like that. Let me see if I have the old link and if it's still active. If it was then there's a place to swipe code.

  9. Trevor:

I have no doubts you'd win the playoff. After all, everybody beats Seattle in October.

    Well, maybe not everybody...

  10. Anyone have any experience with, God forbid, a three-team tie? If there is a three-team tie, does the computer pick only two teams to play? If so, how does it pick them?

Just wondering in case I need to move the franchise to Abilene or something else with a good name for alphabetical ordering.

P.S. I have absolutely no useful knowledge on Perl scripts or how to make them play nice with an HTML page.

P.P.S. I'd like to point out that Saskatoon's October record is worse than Seattle's, so I fully expect to be heavily favored in any one game playoffs.

  11. Pray it doesn't happen, Mack. When I was running all those short sims for the draft pick analysis last year I had to extend the seasons I set up because any three-way tie caused the system to crash and the season to be uncompleted.

    Ever.

So let's all join hands and hope that doesn't happen.

  12. Actually, there may be some owners who wouldn't mind a do-over on the season.

    Just sayin', that's all.
