Oh, and I'd like to congratulate Covington. They managed to inflict Juan Villatoro's only loss of the season so far on 7/12/10. He went 7 inning with 4 runs allowed (2 of them earned) and they held for the win.
Denver comes back from 7 down in the bottom of the 9th to beat Saskatoon, 10 to 9. And I'm pretty sure that happened all with no outs! Try as I might, I can't reconstruct exactly what happened from the box score - I think Queseda hit a bases clearing double to tie it, and then Hernandez did... something... to drive him in? Possibly Queseda reached third on the throw, and then Hernandez hit a grounder, the throw came home and didn't get him? Can't have been an error, since the run was earned....

Nine out of 10, plus Ricky Peppers is hitting like an absolute madman this month.
ReplyDeleteI'll take it.
Can you hear me knocking, Nate?
No, actually, at the relativistic speeds of my .670 winning percentage you recede into nothingness.
ReplyDeleteOr, in another way...
If I go .500 the rest of the way I'll end up at 101 wins. That means you'll have to spend the last part of the season playing .661 ball just to tie.
Good luck with that!
