Injuries again.

I wouldn't mind discussing altering the injury frequency level down a peg. Would anyone else be interested?

  1. I guess I will start the commenting on this one. I will not go against a move to less injuries in this league, even though I have not heard overwhelming arguments for less injuries (I have heard a good amount or arguing for NO injuries, veiled as a call for less injuries, but I am defiantly not for that).

I cannot lie, I was looking forward to at least 6 season of Kaler and Villalpando dominating as my #1 and #2 starters and being the anchors of my staff, but alas last season Villalpando opted not to get his shoulder repaired surgically and just retired at the ripe old age of 19. While it sucked a lot (I will not lie), it actually made the game more fun for me as I now have to get creative to find different ways to keep my team competitive for the long term. It has been interesting and I like the challenge, but I know that is not for everyone. And just for a point of reference, I also lost my #1 pitching prospect in the OEL that lots of us are in also last season, and the injury level is lower in that league too, so a lower injury setting does not stop Career Ending injuries (or injuries that severely erode a players ability) to key players, which seems to be the main issue.

I know that opinion is in the minority, but to each their own. I am for keeping the injuries as they are, just another thing to plan for, but I will not stand in the way of going to lower injuries, but I will stand in the way of NO injuries. I think that would be a mistake.

  2. No, I think that's not quite spot on. I can see a strong argument for limiting the frequency of injuries at this point. It's not about eliminating them completely.

  3. I'm just saying, the argument "Injuries Suck," which is the main one I have heard, to me says that there should not be injuries.

Injuries are still going to suck if there is less of them, and my counter argument to that, is that when they do happen, they suck more when there are less of them. Like when I lost Bearden in the OEL (less injuries), it is much more painful than in this league when I lost Villalpando. I know ppl don't like this argument, but it happens in both, and it sucks in both, and it sucks more when there is less injuries.
