  1. Another Pitching prospect hurt for an extended period of time. You have to laugh. I am going to make a spreadsheet of all of the pitchers that I have been hurt for me in the two leagues that most of us are in and see if I can sim games with them and see what my team would be like :)

  2. The Winston Satterlee era is over in Los Angeles. In order to afford to resign my upcoming free agents (namely Junior Cuomo), I released him, eating $450k. But, I'm saving $24m in salary for next year.

It's not like I was competing, anyway.

Also: the moving vans outside of the Scorpion Pit are filling up, and the franchise move is happening next week. So, I'll be incommunicado for the most part as I drive across this great country of ours.

  3. I am very disturbed by Saskatoon's rise this year. The Toonies pose a stark threat to Seattle's streak of 10 consecutive division titles. Falling to the wild card berth will not be tolerated.

In happier news, the Monarchs are pleased to welcome back franchise hero Gregory Mudge. It's been a tough year for Greg, as he sat out the season demanding a multi-million major league contract despite the industry's belief that he had lost his touch. The career home run king coming into the season watched FOUR people pass him by on the leaderboard. He also lost his career top ranking in total bases and likely will shortly fall out of the #1 spot in RBI as well.

Despite Mudge's obvious decline and the close division race, onlookers expect to see Mudge get playing time as Owner/GM Mack Shultz's sentimental streak strikes again.

  4. I'm having trouble reconciling paragraphs (1) and (3), there, Mack.

  5. Consistency is the hobgoblin of teeny, tiny minds, Michael.

    So is accurate quotation.

  6. I've been amazed by the number of injuries you've sustained this year, Jeremy. I can only conclude that it is some sort of cosmic OOTP karma for your staunch position on the injury settings in these leagues. :) Or, it could just be really bad luck. Either way, I remain on record on saying that I hate injuries. I realize I am probably alone in this but I would seriously consider eliminating them entirely. Hate them.

Michael, my teeny tiny mind is also amused by the inconsistency between Mack's desire to win the division and his sentimentality toward certain players.

At 34 years old, Junior Cuomo is still performing amazingly well. It will be really interesting to see how long he can keep his status as the league's elite closer.

  7. Well, with six games to go this year's team has already clinched both the division and the best record in franchise history (pitiful as that may be!). That takes some of the sting out of the inevitable first-round defenestration Hickory is about to experience.
