London's Five Run 3rd Draws First Blood

The London Dragons breathed some fire and scorched the Seattle Monarchs in the first game of the 2026 Cecil Cup.

London took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a Miguel Ramirez RBI ground out.  Seattle responded with a run in the second when Dewey Wilson singled to right, bringing home Terry Hubbard.

With the score tied at 1-1, Seattle starter Bruno Talamantez simply could not get out of the inning.  After giving up a single to Ron Wood, a triple to Edgardo Collazo, a double to Carlos Ortega and a  single to Artie Buchanan, he capped it off with a two run home run to Mauro Ocascio, giving London a 6-1 lead.   Seattle did manage to add one more run in the bottom of the ninth, but it was just too little, too late.

Game 2:  Tuesday night.
